About the Artist
A.J. Casson (1898 – 1992) was a member of the Group of Seven, who pioneered a distinctly Canadian painting style in the early twentieth century. Casson’s paintings have a strong graphic quality with an emphasis on composition, often executed in watercolour. He is best known for his depictions of landscapes, forests and farms of southern Ontario.
