Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), is celebrated for her self-portraits, portrayal of women and femininity, and the Mexican folklore and cultural symbolism infused within her work. During her lifetime, Kahlo passionately documented her experiences in life, her physical and emotional pain and her turbulent marriage to the Mexican muralist, Diego Rivera, in her paintings, drawings, sketches, and writing.
