Notes from the Vault: 95 Years of Collecting includes an extensive, illustrated history of the Gallery’s collection organized by decade, revealing the range of decisions, serendipitous opportunities and strategic priorities that have shaped and defined our holdings. The second half of the book features 110 catalogue entries on significant works in the Gallery’s collection, selected by current and former members of the curatorial team. Museum collections evolve and shift in surprising ways, and these short texts will address each artist’s art historical relevance as well as their importance within the context of the Gallery’s collection and history.
