In Salish, "Ten" means "Mother." The original version was woven as a wall hanging in collaboration with the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Kanata Blanket has reproduced this under license from the Museum of Anthropology, and royalties from the sale of this blanket are used by the museum to promote Native heritage.

About the artist:

Sparrow is a self-taught Musqueam designer who was born and raised on the Musqueam Reserve. She integrates her people's history into her art and design work. It is Sparrow's hope to educate others about the beauty and integrity of her people's history through her art.
