About the Artist:

Kate Metten works at the intersection of painting and ceramics. She balances an exhibition practice and a line of handmade tableware. Her pottery redefines the everyday through her meticulously handcrafted ceramic tableware. Her distinctive creations have been featured and are sold at prestigious institutions, as well as internationally through Simons Fabrique 1840 and UK Vogue Magazine. Recipient of the 2023 Judson Beaumont BC Achievement Award in Applied Art and Design, Kate's work bridges functionality and art, blurring the line between utilitarian and sculptural forms.
