The KELP MINI by JK3D ® features a digitally crafted design by Award-winning Austrian Designer Julia Koerner who was inspired by the structure and performance of natural kelp topologies found at the pacific coastline. The lightweight clutch results from voids between intricate geometry, unique visual effects, together with the translucency of material.
The KELP MINI is entirely 3D printed, including its hinge, closure clasp and interior pocket. It features an iconic design inspired by natural kelp structures and can only be created using additive manufacturing, resulting in a hand bag consisting of 2980 layers made from renewable plant-based polymers. The KELP MINI can be carried by hand or with the included carrying chain. It includes a unique sculpted protective case for storage and travel.

Julia Koerner is an award-winning Austrian designer, internationally recognized for design innovation in 3D-Printing. She is the co-founder and Creative Director of JK3D. Julia created 3D-printed designs in collaboration with Ruth E. Carter, Marvel, Chanel | Maison Lesage, Iris Van Herpen, Swarovski, among others. Julia is a Professor at UCLA School of Arts & Architecture, and a contributing editor to the Unseasonal magazine.
