The HY MINI by JK3D ® features a digitally crafted design by Award-winning Austrian Designer Julia Koerner that is inspired by the structure and performance of natural hymenium topologies. The hymenium is the tissue layer of the fruiting body of a natural object and it consists of a series of lamellas.
The HY MINI is entirely 3D printed, including its hinge, closure clasp and interior pocket. It features an iconic design that is inspired by natural hymenium lamella structures and can only be created using additive manufacturing, resulting in a hand bag consisting of 2.396 layers and made locally from renewable plant-based polymers. The lamellar structure creates intricate voids which enable you to peek inside.

Julia Koerner is an award-winning Austrian designer, internationally recognized for design innovation in 3D-Printing. She is the co-founder and Creative Director of JK3D. Julia created 3D-printed designs in collaboration with Ruth E. Carter, Marvel, Chanel | Maison Lesage, Iris Van Herpen, Swarovski, among others. Julia is a Professor at UCLA School of Arts & Architecture, and a contributing editor to the Unseasonal magazine.
