African Geometric Patterns Scarf

Regular price $135.00

This unisex scarf recalls a cotton bogolanfini, or mud cloth, in The Met collection. Created in the West African nation of Mali during the 19th–20th century, it's typical of the traditional textiles crafted by Bamana weavers and dyers. In a collaborative process, men weave the cloth and women decorate it using plant extracts and mud. The resulting geometric patterns in shades of black and brown are unmistakable.
